School Holiday Program

We run a school holiday program for children in Kindergarten and above each ACT public school break period. You don't have to be a member of our club to join a session and no experience is required. Children ranging in age from 5 - 13 can attend (note, 5 year olds must be enrolled in Kindergarten to attend or commencing Kindergarten in Term 1 of the current year - pre-schoolers are not permitted). Our holiday program is run from our fully equipped gymnastics facility at Units 3 and 4, 4 Dacre Street Mitchell. Minimal spectators are permitted entry however may only spectate from our upstairs seating area, no specators are to remain downstairs in our entry foyer. For younger children (Kindergarten and year 1), we recommend booking in a maximum of 2 - 3 sessions per week. The program is busy and tiring and we find the younger children do best when they are not attending all sessions in a week.

Program Structure

We start with warm up activities and games on arrival and basic stretching. There will be some structured skill development sections where we will teach some basics of gymnastics such as handstands, cartwheels and round-offs and skills on the various apparatus in small groups with children grouped according to age. We have a ten minute snack and drink break during the session. To conclude we have free time where the children can choose what they want to play on under the supervision of the coaches. Our gym is a very safe environment when gymnasts follow the direction of the coaches. Any children that behave inappropriately or in a dangerous manner will be asked to sit out and repeated bad behaviour will result in removal from the program. .

Cost: $24.00 per child per session for morning session; $22.00 per child per session for afternoon sessions, payable when you book using the booking tool below. Note, refunds are not available for sessions that are not attended or for cancelled bookings. Refunds will only be provided if the child is sick and you can provide a medical certificate.

Times: We run two sessions per day - 9.30am - 11.30am or 1.00pm - 3.00pm and you can attend just one session or multiple sessions. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the start time but note the gym doors will not be opened until 10 minutes before the session starts, do not drop your child off early as the gym is not open and there is no supervision. Please also ensure you arrive promptly to collect your child/ren as fees may apply to parents who are late to pick up. If someone else is dropping or picking up your child/ren, please advise reception and include this information in the notes section when you book. They must be contactable at all times in case of emergency. If your child has a medical condition that requires medication, please provide this to our staff at the entry door in a labelled ziplock bag.

Ages: Children in Kindergarten aged 5 - 13 years are booked to attend each day. All children must be in Primary School, no pre-schoolers are permitted for safety. Children commencing Kindergarten in Term 1 of the new year are permitted to attend the January holiday sessions. All sessions will be supervised by accredited coaches during the entire two hours. We cap the number of children in attendance to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all participants.
