School Holiday Program

We run a school holiday program for children in Kindergarten and above each ACT public school break period. You don't have to be a member of our club to join a session and no experience is required. Children ranging in age from 5 - 13 can attend.

Program Structure

We start with warm up activities and games on arrival and basic stretching. There will be some structured skill development sections where we will teach some basics of gymnastics such as handstands, cartwheels and round-offs and skills on the various apparatus in small groups with children grouped according to age. We have a ten minute snack and drink break during the session. To conclude we have free time where the children can choose what they want to play on under the supervision of the coaches. Our gym is a very safe environment when gymnasts follow the direction of the coaches. Any children that behave inappropriately or in a dangerous manner will be asked to sit out and repeated bad behaviour will result in removal from the program. .

Dates: Week 1 - Monday 16 – Friday 20 April 2018, Week 2 - Monday 23 – Friday 27 April 2018 (except Anzac Day 25 April)

Cost: $22.00 per child per session, payable prior to commencement.

Times: Two sessions per day - 9.30am – 11.30am or 1.00pm - 3.00pm. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the start time. Please also ensure you arrive promptly to collect your child/ren as fees may apply to parents who are late to pick up. If someone else is dropping or picking up your child/ren, please advise reception. They must be contactable at all times in case of emergency.

Ages: Children in Kindergarten aged 5 – 13 years are booked to attend each day. All children must be in Primary School, no pre-schoolers are permitted for safety. All sessions will be supervised by accredited coaches during the entire two hours. We cap the number of children in attendance to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all participants.

What to wear: Girls can wear a leotard (no skirts attached) or leggings / tracksuit pants and a t-shirt. Boys can wear shorts, tracksuit pants and a t-shirt. No jeans, skirts, dresses or shoes. As it will be hot, please ensure children are dressed for the very warm weather and physical activity.

What to bring: A water bottle with your child’s name and a small non-nut snack for the break. No lollies, chips or soft drinks permitted. Only water please.

Parents / Siblings: Parents are welcome to wait in the waiting area along with siblings that are not participating in the program. Please note that only children booked into the program and who have paid their daily fee will be permitted into the gym area. You do not have to stay during the session.
